Course Description:

Learn basic bedside ultrasound skills and ways to integrate the technology into primary care practice settings.

A comprehensive Bedside Ultrasound Workshop designed to equip healthcare professionals with fundamental skills in ultrasound technology, empowering them to integrate this cutting-edge tool into primary care settings.  This workshop is crafted to demystify ultrasound technology, offering lectures covering the basics of ultrasound principles, image acquisition techniques, and the practical applications of this technology in primary care.

The workshop emphasizes hands-on training, providing participants with invaluable practical experience in image acquisition.  Guided by experienced instructors, attendees will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with ultrasound machines, practice proper probe manipulation, and practice the art of obtaining high-quality images.  From abdominal scans to basic cardiac assessments, participants will gain confidence in utilizing ultrasound as a diagnostic aid in primary care scenarios.

Course Learning Objectives:
By the end of the workshop, attendees should be able to:

  1. Describe the principles behind ultrasound technology, differentiate between various modes, and demonstrate proficiency in obtaining basic ultrasound images.
  2. Identify suitable clinical scenarios for ultrasound use in primary care, perform basic scans relevant to primary care practice (such as abdominal and basic cardiac assessments), and appreciate the benefits of using ultrasound as an adjunct to physical examinations.
  3. Demonstrate beginner skills in performing and interpreting basic ultrasound examinations in a primary care setting.
